A Book Fair

A Book Fair

A book fair means the display of different items of books for buying and selling. Nowadays it is very much popular with the readers, men of letters, and the authors. In fact, a book fair is considered to be an occasion of great festivity to the book lovers. It is usually held in the winter season on an open place in most of the major cities of the country. The largest book fair in our country is held in February to observe the Language Movement Day in the Bangla Academy premises. A book fair promotes the publication of books to spread education and widen the sphere of our knowledge. It increases the readers' interest in reading books.
Different items of books like stories, novels, dramas, poems, biographical, science and technologies, fiction, non-fiction, raising social awareness, etc. are usually available in a book fair. Some rare books are also available here. Besides, other articles like cassettes of song and recitations, view-cards, calendars, posters so on are sold in a book fair. Many stalls of home and abroad sit in the book fair. The stalls are nicely decorated. Some writers are also seen sitting in the stalls and fans gather there for autographs. Some govt. officers also visit the book fair. Seminars and cultural programs are also held in such a fair. I am very fond of books. So, whenever I get a chance to visit a book fair, I do not hesitate to take it. In fact, a book fair reminds us that books are our best companions. We get these best friends at a cheaper rate from a book fair. To make a book fair successful discipline, strict law and orders condition, suitable location, the security of the buyers and sellers are very essential. I think such kind of fair can be made successful.
